Keeping it Cool

It has been a busy past two months. This was meant to be a June post where the month of weddings and engagements usually happens. We are still posting this any way as we feel it really does relate to all couples planning a wedding.

To most people who are already married and have gone through all the wedding fairytale it is seldom told that stress and horror stories for a wedding planning. One thing is it does get the bride and groom all tense up and at times up to a point of breaking up! So we think this is a good way to cool things down. Don't you think so?  Eat. Drink and Married. Brews before I do's.

Here is how we did this craft. We use a canvas cloth and felt fabric.

Cut it up in to this hour glass shape.

Hand painted the message with gold paint.
Last glued the fabric cloth to the felt. Then glued the side of the cut out together to form the Cozy Cooler holder to fit the canned drinks. You can custom fit to a bottle as well.

We hope this inspired you to create something new with things you have around the house and turn it to something awesome.

A Day off with Dad

We are still in beach mode. Since we just came from our summer getaway.
Spending long or short walks with Dad is something we have done and remember as we grow up.

Scavenging through crafts materials a simple twine slipper came to mind. To symbolize the long and short walks with Dad.

Cut out the paper shape of the slippers

Using a twine and glue gun with glue stick to adhere each twine together.

Here is the assembled slippers.

Our Hipster MoM!

Happy Mother's Day!

Without MoM's who support our craziness as urban creatives we will be lost searching for what makes us "ME"!

Thank you to all the MoMs who cries inside from time to time because it is hard to set us free. But as they say. If you LOVE them then set them FREE.

A big shout out...."We love you Mom!"
It is your love and strength and support that helps us to continue to inspire others with our creativity.

Check out our video on this blog in our instagram and facebook page.

Summer Cool Down Drink #3

This is our last Summer Cool Down drink food craft.
It is all crushed iced this time. Definitely will give you that brain freeze.

Ingredients:
Banana
milk
Mango
no taste red food color
no taste blue food color
water

One tool you will need for this simple drink is a lot of ice cube trays.

For the white ice we used banana with milk puree.
For the blue ice we used no taste blue food color dissolved in water.
For yellow ice we used mango puree.
For the red ice we used no taste red food color dissolved in water.
Tip: If you would like this drink to be sweeter add sugar syrup to colored water.

Ones all ice cubes are ready we crushed 3 to 4 cubes of ice and layered it in the glass! Banana ice +blue ice+ mango ice + red ice and topped with banana ice again. How we crushed the ice - you can use an ice cone shaving machine or since we don't have one we use a chopping board and a wooden food tenderizing mallet to smash the cubes giving it that rough crush ice texture.
Caution: We did make a bit of mess smashing the ice but we had fun making it. :)

Slurp! Slurp! Slurp!
Refreshing!

Summer Cool Down Drink #2

As we have mentioned last week. We are doing a series of Summer Cool Down drinks. This is not our usual craft blog (a food craft) but it is just too hot and humid that all we could think about it to cool down.

Here is our 2nd Summer Cool Down drink.
This is a more refreshing and healthy detox drink.

Instead of cooling down with just plain chilled water, how about try adding some lemon and veggies to your water.

Thinly sliced cucumber.
Thinly sliced carrots.
Thinly sliced fresh lemon.
Some sprigs of Basil.

Place all ingredients inside a pitcher and pour water. Let it sit for about 3 hours in the fridge. And serve.

Since this is a craft blog we like to craft everything! We neatly arrange the slices of veggies in a glass for that nice pop of color and pour the chilled water in to our individual glasses.

Slurp! Slurp! Slurp!
Refreshing!

Summer Cool Down Drink #1

This is not our regular DIY craft posts. But with the heat of summer up we could not help but dream about drinks that can help cool us down from the heat.

This is our first "food" craft.
And we plan to do a series of this Summer Cool Down drink.

Yes! We did cool down with this rich and yummy drink.

Below is the simple recipe for this drink...

Crumble some brownies at the bottom of your glass.
Add slightly whisked heavy whip cream (no sugar added).
Top with chocolate drink blended into a shake (yes a lot of crush ice).
Finished with a scoop of ice cream (we used salted caramel, you can use any flavor you like).
Sprinkle with chocolate chips and drizzle with chocolate syrup.

Slurp! Slurp! Slurp!

Felt Coaster perfect for Easter

We found quite a bit of left over felt fabric from other projects / craft  we did previously and we thought since so many people are posting Easter projects we might as well make one from all our left over felt fabrics. The craft needed to be small. The felt fabrics are just small cuts.
Check out how we made. These came out so adorable.

We hope this inspired you to create something new with things you have around the house and turn it to something useable again.
